The vision of the owner, Konstantinos Pampris, a Rhodian entrepreneur who views his business as a work of art, is to build the concept of @Sissitio: Fine Art & Taste Culture with quality characteristics, aesthetic excellence and profound knowledge, creating a unique venue for the island of Rhodes.

Konstantinos continuously strives for business innovation, through a lot of personal care, work and investment. Sissitio is a well-established brand on Rhodes, a modern, multi-level business that combines everything that smart specialization dictates in gastronomy and global dining.

History & Landmarks

Gastronomy and global dining.

Its name, history, philosophy, aesthetics, music, artistic gastronomy and overall culture all contribute to the view that Sissitio is not just another restaurant, but the venue where art and aesthetic pleasure converge, in a prime location on the outskirts of the Palace of the Grand Master, on Sokratous 179 and Ippodamou Street.

Sissitio is housed in a group of monuments, where there originally was a three-naved catholic church dated in the 14th or 15th century CE. It is believed to have been destroyed during the first siege of Rhodes in 1480 CE and the big earthquake that followed in 1481 CE. A small, single-naved church was built on its ruins. When Rhodes was occupied by the Ottomans, Suleiman the Magnificent, the Sultan at the time, built this venue, a poorhouse, an “imaret” (1522) and various storage and cooking areas. The church was transformed and the arch at the chancel was turned into an oven.

Unique Courtyard & Secret Garden

The multi-purpose venue of Sissitio prides itself of a unique courtyard, laid out in the traditional Rhodian pebble, where elegant dining furniture, table decors and china showcase the gastronomical achievements of the Chef and his team.

For those seeking mystical escapes, @Sissitio: Secret Garden is an ideal area, at a secluded internal courtyard, where a giant evergreen ficus, bougainvilleas and banana trees create a green oasis in the stone backdrop of the Medieval Town, enveloping those who choose to be there.

For those who desire a more upbeat, vibrant atmosphere, the multi-purpose venue of Sissitio offers two (2) bars, both aesthetically harmonised with the environment, both entertainment reference points for the visitor/customer.

Innovation @Sissitio: Fine Art and Taste Culture is an on-going process, as each year a new, creative novelty is added to its services. The triad of quality control, new technologies and environmental impact provide a customised experience for our customer.

Quality control is the result of a system for managing food safety, including required characteristics, interactive communication and system management. Our model focuses on the safety in the supply chain and is harmonised with the principles of ISO 22.000 – H.A.C.C.P. We take our carbon footprint seriously and offer alternative products that are aligned with this philosophy: focusing on the quality and not the quantity of raw materials, giving priority to local production and utilising energy-efficient cooking methods.
